FAQ

Pilates questions, answered honestly.

Getting Started

I've never done Pilates before. Is this right for me?
Absolutely. Patti works with everyone from complete first-timers to seasoned athletes. Your introductory session begins with a full conversation and assessment, so we understand exactly where your body is before we move.
What should I wear and bring?
Comfortable, fitted clothing you can move freely in — leggings and a fitted top work great. Grip socks are recommended, and we have some if you need them. No shoes on the apparatus. Just bring yourself and your goals!
I have an injury or a chronic condition. Can I still do this?
Often, yes — and it's frequently why people come to us. Patti has worked with clients recovering from injury, surgery, and living with chronic conditions, and her own story began with scoliosis and a spinal fusion. We'll always start slow, and we're glad to coordinate with your physician when that's the right call.

The Method

How is this different from the Pilates I've seen at a gym or in a group class?
Group reformer classes teach a simplified version of the method, designed to work for a room full of bodies at once. What we do is built around your body specifically, using the full apparatus, with Patti's attention on you the entire time. It's a fundamentally different experience — and, in our view, much closer to what Pilates is actually meant to be.
Are you a classical studio?
We're classically inspired. A true classical studio requires classical equipment and adheres strictly to the classical lineage. We honor Joseph Pilates' original principles and teach the full apparatus with that grounding — but we describe ourselves as classically inspired rather than classical.
Why only one-on-one? Do you offer group classes?
No group classes — and that's intentional. Every session is private. You'll never share your hour, and Patti's full attention is always on you. The small corrections she makes in the moment are where real change happens, and that simply isn't possible in a crowd.
Which apparatus will I use?
Whatever serves your body that day. The studio has the full method — Reformer, Tower, Chair, and Barrels — and Patti chooses among them based on your goals, your history, and how you're moving in the moment.

Sessions & Booking

How do I book my first session?
You can book directly through our online scheduler on the Book Now page, or email us first if you'd like to talk it through. New clients start with an introductory session so we can assess your body and plan a path forward.
How often should I come?
It depends entirely on your body and your goals — and Patti will map out a recommendation with you at the end of your first session. Many clients find a consistent weekly rhythm brings the most lasting change.
What are your hours and where are you located?
We're a private studio in the Arcadia area of Phoenix, Arizona, open by appointment only. Your exact time is arranged when you book.
What's your cancellation policy?
Because every session is reserved just for you, we ask for advance notice if you need to reschedule. Specific timing and any policy details are confirmed at the time of booking.

Recovery Support

What is the recovery technology, and is it the main focus?
The movement is always the focus. To help your body recover and hold onto the gains from a session, Patti brings in Earth-inspired recovery support — Far Infrared, Red Light, and PEMF — used only where it amplifies the effect of your Pilates work. Think of it as supporting cast, not the headline.
What do Far Infrared, Red Light, and PEMF actually do?
In short: Far Infrared warms deep into the tissue to boost circulation, Red Light supports cellular repair, and PEMF works with your body's natural charge to aid recovery. Each can help reduce inflammation and support how your body feels after moving.
Do I have to use the recovery technology?
Not at all. It's there to complement your Pilates practice when it's helpful, never a requirement. Patti will only ever suggest it where it genuinely supports your goals.
